Book of Veles a forgery

[edit]

I removed the section because its base largely on an informal lecture by a researcher at my college. I was emailed afterwards by him asking me to remove the section because the research is as yet unpublished. I didn't realize that when I posted the section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kablamo2007 (talkcontribs) 23:00, 2 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image source problem with Image:Bn matica e.gif

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Bn matica e.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:07, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Mujahideen foreign fighters

[edit]

Look here you stinking Serb! Don't promote your propaganda in our article! There were never, during the entire war and now in the post-war period, any links between Albanian institutions or the KLA and the Mujahideen fighters. They are a group of volunteers who go to different countries with a majority of Islam religion to help the war! Maybe in Kosovo there were a few, but they were never supported and/or associated with the Kosovo Liberation Army! They weren't grouped appropriately, so they can not even be classified as fighting forces. If they came to fight, they weren't regarded as defenders of ethnic Albanians, they came to fight Serbs because of their religion. Besides, they were more frequent in Bosnia, not Kosovo. The sources that you provide are only allegations. You can't base this article on allegations. You're even citing extremely nationalistic Serbian propaganda website like http://www.kosovo.net! Don't be ridiculous. If you want a debate, bring it on. But don't use this article as a stage to build your propaganda. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bardhylius (talkcontribs) 15:12, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Temple_of_Saint_Sava_-_liturgy.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 22:09, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I feel compeled to provide facts

[edit]

I feel compeled to respond and provide facts with regards to your lies about alleged Serb victims of Jasenovac camp. Even the United States Holocaust Museum has intervened to respond to lies about alleged 700,000 to 1.5 million Serb victims in Jasenovac camp. These lies have been discredited even by Belgrade sources. Serb editors have conveniently "avoided" reporting the following figure from the United States Holocaust Museum about Serb victims of Jasenovac: "The most reliable figures place the number of Serbs killed by the Ustaša between 330,000 and 390,000, with 45,000 to 52,000 Serbs murdered in Jasenovac." Serb editors have deleted this part from the article because it's more convenient to believe in a myth and inventions (lies) of 700,000 Serbs dead even though the United States Holocaust museum has stated that the most reliable figures place the number of Serbs killed in Jasenovac to 45,000-52,000. Source http://www.ushmm.org/museum/exhibit/online/jasenovac/frameset.html?L= . The Bosniak Institute in Zürich published in 1998 a list of all registered victims of the two concentration camps on the basis of data drawn from the Office for Statistics in Belgrade. This gives a figure of 59,188 known deaths at Jasenovac and Stara Gradiška, of which 33,944 were Serbs. You see, your lies have been already discredited. There is nothing you can do about the truth. Lie is always weak, so better stick to facts. And of course, you never mentioned over 1,000 Bosniaks killed in Jasenovac and over 100,000 Bosniaks killed by Chetniks who collaborated with Nazis and murdered Jews and Bosniaks. Re: Serbian villages

[edit]

That's actually a good idea, thanks for notifying me about it. Where can I see more information about adding the articles through a bot?

Initially I was actually going to expand these articles myself, particularly villages in Uzice's municipality. I didn't create any other village articles outside of Uzice.

Thanks and take care,

Kosovo

[edit]

See the History of Modern Kosovo article. It's unendingly POV. It says that during Yugoslavia over 80% were Albanians, but their number fell because of Serb colonization - even though the censuses state ~65%. Most of the article relies on crimes against Albanians - but (like in WWII) atrocities on Serbs are nowhere mentioned. --PaxEquilibrium 23:32, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You told me you're a sympathizer of the SRS. --PaxEquilibrium 21:39, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't recall I ever told you so. Why are you asking me that in this exact moment? Nikola 04:12, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, on my very talk page - you said that you're not quite a nationalist, but just that you have some sympathies with them (some year and a half ago or so).
I'm asking you because I always wanted but never got to. --PaxEquilibrium 10:51, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I can't find that. If you think you can, be my guest.
So, you remember what I told you a year and a half ago, during all that time wanted to ask me about it, but don't do so until the very moment when Chris started a campaign to have me banned for opposing his POV pushing? Nikola 11:05, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, yeah... --PaxEquilibrium 11:21, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, right. This google search also proves you wrong. Nikola 11:22, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Huh? What has User:Elephantus got to do with me? The two of us even didn't get along quite well. --PaxEquilibrium 11:26, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reported for violations of article probation

[edit]

Following your latest bout of edit warring on Gazimestan speech and repeated attempts to delete the non-Serbian POV from the article, I've come to the conclusion that you have no intention of respecting either WP:NPOV or the existing article probation. I've refrained from reporting your repeated breaches of article probation until now, but your latest actions have convinced me that you are seeking to use Wikipedia as a soapbox for your POV. I've requested enforcement action against you at WP:AE#Enforcement request re Kosovo. -- ChrisO 23:25, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your nomination, and your valuable edits and suggestions on Ala (demon). Keep up the good work! Vlado 23:11, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your list of scientific journals in Serbia was nominated for deletion on 2007-11-02. You might be interested in the AfD discussion here which already has 2 "votes" for Delete and 1 for Keep. It would be helpful if you can reply to each of the main objections:
1. The list still contains too many red links,
2. The list does not have any reliable sources about the journals,
3. Category:Serbian magazines already exists (but only for the journals in your list with blue links),
4. The list is too broad (too many different subjects),
5. The list is too specific to only one country (Serbia) - Neparis 19:01, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Kosovska River

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kosovska River requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Stewy5714talk 20:16, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Gazimestan speech

[edit]

I don't know the whole history here, but from looking at the RFM and the recent edits to that article, I'd generally agree with Chris O's last edit comment. The guiding principle is WP:NPOV, and more importantly its first section, WP:NOPOV. Thus, PR shouldn't be deleting your sources and at the same time you shouldn't be deleting his, although your latest version does better present both points of view textually, AFAICT. I apologize for PR'ss bunker mentality here; I'll have a word with him. -- Kendrick7talk 18:29, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Bn matica e.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Bn matica e.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. WikiProject Europe on Kosovo articles

[edit]

Why are you removing the Template:WikiProject Europe on Kosovo articles ? Is there any agreement on this , or are you just removing them because you dont think they should be there ( if this is the case please put them back or disscus it first on the talk page ). please answer me on my talk page--B.C. 18:02, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The reason why Kosovo cities should have it is because Kosovo is not completly part of Serbia and therefor cant be completly on the scoope of WikiProject Serbia , but since there isnt a WikiProject Kosovo , the WikiProject Europe should be displayed instead. If you want to change that I'd suggest opening a disscution on Talk:Kosovo .Until then , I would appreciate if you could put them back --B.C. 18:18, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is still a lot of work to be done on getting the project off the ground, so your help would be welcomed. In particular:

  • The public watchlist needs to be populated with all Kosovo-related articles (and redirects), categories, images and templates. I've added as many as I've found so far but more need to be added.

If you can help out with these, it would be much appreciated.

Kosovo Ethymology

[edit]

I am trying to find sources about the origin of Kosovo's name. Could you please help?

Here's a draft I wrote:

The region seems to take its name from Kosovo Polje (Fushë Kosovë in Albanian]), 8 km north of Pristina, where a battle known by the same name was fought in 1389 and became a symbol to the Serbian resistance against the Ottoman invasion in the Balkans. In Serbian language Kosovo Polje (Косово Поље) means literally "Blackbird's Field" (or "Blackbird's Plain"), where kosovo is the declined possessive form of Kos(Кос) "Blackbird", that is "of the Blackbird" in Serbian. Thus, the name shows a Serbian origin and has no proper meaning in Albanian language, where fushë translates to "Field", but Kosovë has no proper meanings, and "blackbird" translates to Çavë in Albanian.

Thanks for your answer. I'd be interested in investigate to which extent it could be argued that most toponyms in Kosovo are Slavic in essence, i.e. Peć and that their Albanian versions are just translations made upon assonance and not upon meaning. Again my thanks and best of all. --Piero Montesacro (talk) 11:42, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, zvecan, should it be 98% serb, 10 000 izbeglica as you people call them, those internally displaced, 72% sounds incorrect, as all books and sources confirm it's 99% serb populated. Sauerkraut preparation

[edit]

Today I prepared around 8 gallons (16 liters) of sauerkraut using the methods passed down from my German ancestors (see a good description in the first sentences at Sauerkraut#Container. You created a Commons category on sour cabbage preparation. It appears to be a variant from the method that I used. We chop the cabbage into tiny slices with a cabbage shreader and compress the salted result. Then we put a glass container and weight over the result in a crock. I took pictures of the process as things progressed. How different are the two methods: different enough that I should upload my pictures? What is sour cabbage? I am watching your talk page, so please respond here at your talkpage. Royalbroil 19:11, 15 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I intended to make an illustrated guide to making sauerkraut on Wikibooks one day... It is similar, though people here are usually pickling entire cabbage heads (shredded cabbage is sometimes put in addition to the heads). Feel free to upload your picture, of course, you don't need my permission. Sour cabbage is simply a synonym for sauercraut. Nikola (talk) 07:57, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Sk200307.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sk200307.jpg.

Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks for uploading Image:500000000000 dinars.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

In search of Nikola Smolenski

[edit]

I had posted a request here, where I asked for a scrip that would allow me to find categories such as Category:WikiProject Biography non-article pages where "non-article" appears other than at the beginning of the category name. That lead me to grep.php. According to this, a Nikola Smolenski wrote grep.php. I'm hoping that you are that Nikola Smolenski. Can you modify the existing grep tool with an option to show all category titles that match a regular expression pattern? Alternatively, can you create and post a tool that shows all category titles that match a regular expression pattern? Thanks. GregManninLB (talk) 08:33, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's good news! Is there a way (without too much effort on your part) to expand grep to include options for separately searching each of the Wikipedia prefixes (e.g., Wikipedia:, Template:, Category:, User:, MediaWiki:, Help:, Portal:, etc.) in addition to article space. For example, if I wanted to search Category: prefixes for the regular expression pattern "school", I would select Category:, enter "school", and have my answer. If so, please do. If not, that's OK. Thanks! GregManninLB (talk) 16:54, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not to be a pest, but (i) what about the abilty to search up to three regular expression patterns? Some people recreate deleted articles under similar, but different names. For example, if the article John Smith is delete, they may recreate it as John J. Smith. The ability to search Wikipedia prefixes for those having "John" and "Smith" in them (two separate regular expression patterns) would be most helpful. (ii) If you can make the default language as English instead of Afar, that would help. (iii) An option to exclude redirects would be most welcome. (They have a hide redirect option that can be seen here) Thanks! GregManninLB (talk) 17:02, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks.[1] I'll use that in the future. GregManninLB (talk) 17:49, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Poem Extension

[edit]

I have gotten no help over on meta with some trouble I'm having with your Poem extension, as installed on my own personal wiki. On the talk pages of other namespaces it makes an error - UNIQ583c33685170dbcd-poem-00000000-QINU? - (example). It is also fairly incompatible with the Semantic Mediawiki extension, since it makes the fact box right after the closing of the Poem (example). I don't know the mediawiki framework well enough to know why either of these might be. Do you have any ideas? --Aquatiki (talk) 07:10, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello !

I'm contacting you about mw:extension:interlanguage. I myself recently wrote an extension dealing with interlanguages, mw:Extension:PromotedInterlanguages. The idea is to get rid of those nasty javascript hacks we use to display the golden star next to interlanguage links, as it is responsible for nearly half of the loading time on pages with a lot of interlanguage links.

I received good feedback on it, but got mainly answered "that would be nice if it was using a centralized system". Now these people were thinking at a separate database to flag featured/good articles, but looking at your extension, I think that we could maybe merge these together, what do you think ?

A small difference between our extensions is that mine needs to disable the parser cache when evaluating my #promoted tag : the only aim of my parser function is in fact to fill a local array, to know which link has to be "higlighted", and this array must be filled on each display. And here, for your code, disabling the cache does not make any sense, since it would retrieve the centralized page on each display.

I think that adding categories on the central wiki (e.g. "Category:English featured article") would be sufficient to generate the data to display the stars (making the api query "prop=categories|langlinks" instead of "prop=langlinks"), but there is that cache issue. The first idea that I have here (and that might be a bad one) would be to change your InterlanguageExtension to return, not only a list of interlanguage links, but also some "#promoted" tags. The value returned would still be cached by the parser (i.e. the API query would not be done at each time), but since the cached value would contain the #promoted tag, these tags would be parsed on each time, and it would display correctly the promoted interlanguage links.

Please tell me your thoughts on this :)

Why chaning

[edit]

I am changing as this anthem isn't the same like first, and therefore current is written in Montenegrin language. Also, offical language in Montenegro is Montenegrin, and all article considering Montenegro should be in that language. If you want "Serbian" go to Serbian articles and you will have it. We didn't separated from you so you can still copy our history, and to make all Serbian. Serbian is just language in use same like Albanian. If you are that brave, why don't you edit Croatian articles if you are that brave, as they are written in Serbian language by your theory :). Go edit "Lijepa Nađa", I can expect from you argument about census. The same was with Serbo-Croatian in Serbia 1991, in use of Serbo-Croatian, but now... it is all Serbian in Serbia :D. Same will be for Montenegrin, when you won't find job as teacher of Serbian language in Montenegro :D.

Rave92 (talk) 14:15, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rave, placing 'Montenegrin language' in articles poses as a problem. This is because Montenegrin only exists on paper and not factually as a language itself but more or less as a near-separate dialect of the Serbian language (actually two dialects if you want to be specific). And what you think is the Montenegrin language won't be for long, trust me.
P.S. Stop provocating users to commit stupid tasks to show their "pride" in the Serbian language. --Prevalis (talk) 15:58, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't say it isn't written in Montenegrin language. Plitics made that it was called Serbian, but Montenegrin isn't dilct of that language. It can only be dialect of Serbo-Croatian, which doesn't exsist anymore. Isn't different from today's Serbian? So? That means it should be written in Serbian? Why? it doesn't have status of official language.

Rave92 (talk) 22:02, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't quite get what you were saying. Serbo-Croatian dialect of Serbian? Anyway all articles and names are in Montenegrin, as the offical language is in Montenegrin. We all know that all is the same language (Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Montenegrin) but when all wanna named by country, Montenegro has same right, or even more, and don't see how it is your problem. It is one language, but every country has it own name, and in Montenegro that name is Montenegrin :). Rave92 (talk) 20:53, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For a start, you needs to fix the very first word of the paragraph, which begins "It" . What is "it"? Are you talking about Saint' Sava's? If so, begin the section that way. And make sure your reader knows that you are talking about a historic tradition, not a tram "line". Amandajm (talk) 05:29, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I reverted your note that the article's factual accuracy is disputed. My explanation was: "The last comment on the talk page is from July 2007;many disputable assertions are referenced or deleted, yet; It would be better, to mark disputable assretions in the article with citation request". Maybe I am wrong, but I want to contribute for improving this article and therefore, I will be gratefull, if you point which exactly are your doubts. Regards,--Males (talk) 15:32, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I made some new edits; I added references and I'm ready to add more sources. I red again carefully your words in the talk page and I maintain that the most of your objections are missing in the article now or they are referenced. I hope that if you have some requests for sources or other concrete objections you'll express them in the talk page or you'll put the relevant templates in the text.--Males (talk) 01:45, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nikola, i found a bug in Your Toolserver. The server is a counter of articles created by anyuser and it can be used to any project, but it don't show the number before the article's list as the Escaladix's Toolserver for the project Wikipedia. Can you put the number of creation (number of notice) in your Toolserver? I found some users that have over than 400 articles in Wikinews, but we can't know the exact number (your server is also used to count the number of article's created of any user to give status as: Sysop, Editor, etc).

Proposed deletion of Ban (law)

The article Ban (law) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The first part of this page is patent nonsense. I suggest a complete rewrite.

Orthodox Celts

[edit]

Ostalocutanje (talk) 18:34, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Temple of Saint Sava - liturgy.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Kosov.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

File permission problem with File:Milla Jovovich.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Milla Jovovich.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 05:12, 1 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Spilling water for luck

[edit]

Nice little article. I've nominated Jovan Vladimir, so it could help :) As for Prince Marko, a section in it is far below even GA standards. Vladimir (talk) 19:48, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

B. and M. section should be expanded. Even then there would still be some work to do for the article to meet the GA standards. Vladimir (talk) 14:04, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it helped :) Vladimir (talk) 13:27, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Galaksija

[edit]

You did not need to move this page because there is no page on any other topic that is called "Galaksija". And the computer appears to be the primary topic anyway.—Ryulong (竜龙) 06:40, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need to disambiguate the article on the computer when you want to make an article on a new subject. Just keep Galaksija (magazine) separate and do not turn Galaksija into a disambiguation page. I will be moving it back, again. Read WP:BRD before you do anything else.—Ryulong (竜龙) 06:42, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And now I can't move it back because you did not follow the bold, revert, discuss cycle.—Ryulong (竜龙) 06:43, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please be less trigger-happy? I am writing the other page right now. Nikola (talk) 06:46, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
1) That you removed my message from your talk page is extremely rude and uncivil.
2) The computer is not the primary topic, in fact the computer is named after the magazine. Please don't try to contribute to topics you don't know about. Nikola (talk) 06:46, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good. Nikola (talk) 06:50, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
1) You didn't sign your initial message to me and I prefer to keep conversations on the page that I start them on (this one). And I can do whatever the bloody hell I want on my own user talk.
2) We never had a page on the magazine before, so it does not seem entirely necessary to move one page just because it is named after another. And you can't stop anyone from doing anything on the project.
And it is not good that I can't undo things because you don't understand that when you are reverted you have to start a discussion to get the revert undone and your preferred change pushed through.—Ryulong (竜龙) 06:56, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
1) I forgot to sign my message. We started the conversation at the same time, I was writing on your talk while you were writing on mine. By the way, I too prefer to keep conversations where I started them, but I'll keep this here just for your sake.
2) You don't seem to grasp that disambig pages are often made even when we don't have all pages (or even when we don't have any of the pages) when the topics are of equal importance and if we expect we will be having them. This is a moot point anyway since now we do have all the pages.
3) It is good that you can't undo edits that you have no understanding about. WP:BRD doesn't apply here because I wasn't being bold. Nikola (talk) 07:11, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Moving a page is pretty bold.—Ryulong (竜龙) 07:45, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Radovan.karadzic.fs.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Radovan.karadzic.fs.jpg.

You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Cloudbound (talk) 19:23, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:University of Priština logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:University of Priština logo.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. A tag has been placed on Kosovskoye Lake, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

the nonexistent lake

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.

Please note: this is not my nomination - I noticed you hadn't been told. Peridon (talk) 22:04, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
I removed this content because it was unsourced. We have a widespread problem on wikipedia: Lists of military equipment are unsourced and frequently full of serious errors. All content should be verifiable, but you reinserted the content without any sources (and reinserted the old fact-tags too). Please don't add it back unless you have some evidence that it's actually true. bobrayner (talk) 20:26, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

earliest sources

[edit]

Please stop removing that the earliest accounts didn't mention him. I can't access Emmert's source directly, but I can find references to his writings:

"The Kosovo myth evolved over time with additional dramatic details and characters to reinforce the original themes. The “assassination” event of Sultan Murad led to the creation of the heroic Milos Obilic character surrounded by a subplot of suspicion, disloyalty, slander, and heroism. In his article, “Milos Obilic and the Hero Myth,” Thomas Emmert provides reference to the first Serbian account of the assassination written in the fifteenth century in Constantine the Philosopher’s Life of Despot Stefan Lazarevic: (...) The character Milos first appeared in a 1497 Chronicle by Konstantin Mihailovic written for the kings of Poland and Hungary. The chronicle tells of disloyalty and betrayal in the Serbian ranks countered by the passionate dedication and sacrifice shown by Milos. Historian Florian Bieber adds that the “historical existence of this assassin-hero is highly disputable, but he served as an archetypal national martyr figure, sacrificing himself for Serbia, and through the myth became an exemplary benchmark against which Serbian leaders had to justify their own accomplishments and rule.”23"[7]

"The battle is given very little detail in these earliest Serbian sources, and there is no indication that it was a decisive Serbian defeat. The Serbs had sustained substantial losses in the battle - and yet Murad and a multitude of his troops had been killed and Bayezid, the new sultan, had retreated in haste to Edirne to secure the throne. Serbian writers were, therefore, not concerned with describing a great military defeat. Rather, the central theme in each Serbian account is the death of the Serbian prince. In the view of his eulogists, Lazar sacrificed himself so that Serbia might live. What they were conscious of was the fact that the battle robbed Lazar' s principality of its strength and leadership. Lazar' s death paralyzed Serbian society. He represented the last and only hope against the Ottomans, and it is for this reason that his death was seen as the great tragedy of Kosovo. When the enemy returned again, there was no one to oppose them, and Serbia' s fate was sealed. In the 15th century the emerging epic tradition of Kosovo began to express new themes, particularly the assassination of Murad by a courageous Serbian knight, Milos Obilic, and the suspicion of betrayal at the battle."[8]

If the text is unclear, then rewrite it in a clearer fashion. But don't change again the meaning of the text because that's not what sources say. --Enric Naval (talk) 13:29, 26 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks on edits

You have some serious explaining to do. You've reverted several of my constructive edits with absolutely no reasoning or justification for them. Cease your personal vendetta against my edits or I will contact a admin. Buttons (talk) 05:21, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, I never delete relevant and reliably cited information in any article that I edit. Second of all, you clearly don't care what my edits are since you've even reverted one of my edits in which I updated a picture for the list of presidents of Serbia, which makes you a liar. Third, Wikipedia allows all un-cited information to be challenged and removed, so your argument that my edits make the article "worse off" with my deletions is completely unfounded. I edit according to the standards established by Wikipedia, not yours. So knock it off with your childish behavior and grow up. Buttons (talk) 19:25, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Which references did I remove specifically? Name one, if you would be so kind. You are very clearly a lair and a hypocrite, that or you have absolutely no clue on the subject matter(s). If you did, you would know for instance that Novi dvor is the presidents office, not his official place residence. Buttons (talk) 23:31, 19 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Government of Serbia

[edit]

Hi – I see you have contributed to the Government of Serbia article. I work for Bell Pottinger and the Government of Serbia is my client (see my user page for more information). I have disclosed my conflict of interest on the COI Noticeboard, and have been working with other editors on a number of related articles. I recently proposed an edit to this article in light of the appointment of a new Finance Minister, to sit under the list of cabinet ministers, but have not had a response so far. Would you mind reviewing it and taking a view? I’ve included full citation templates in the HTML.

In August 2013, Lazar Krstic – a US-educated McKinsey consultant – was named as the new Finance Minister after Mladjan Dinkic ceded his portfolio to the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS).[1][2] First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić had previously announced a cabinet reshuffle with a view to making macroeconomic policy a government priority.[3]

Many thanks. Vivj2012 (talk) 13:23, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Tsar Dusan's coin.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tsar Dusan's coin.gif. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 23:19, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Considering you are a significant contributor to the page about Avala tower and it's a significant part of my thesis, I would love to interview you for my undergrad thesis. It would be very helpful.

Sorry if this is inappropriate for your user talk page. I don't know how else to contact you. My email is pswans at saic dot edu.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Christmas in Indonesia, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Maluku, Ambon and Papua. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Ban (law) for deletion, because it appears to duplicate an existing Wikipedia article, Prohibitionism.

Notice

The article Liberal Democratic Party (Serbia 1989) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and is orange-tagged.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Serbian proverbs, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 15:55, 23 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
